This Too Shall Pass.

Artist's notes:

“This too shall pass.” I’ve always been drawn to the quiet, grounding truth in those four words. They serve as a gentle reminder that everything we navigate—every season of struggle, heartbreak, or uncertainty—is inherently temporary.

In this new body of work, I reflect on the transient nature of our emotions and human experiences. For me, painting is a sanctuary—a way to process moments that feel far too heavy for words. Through these pieces, I aim to carve out spaces of stillness. They are invitations to pause, breathe, and accept that not everything in life is meant to be controlled or fully understood—a theme I explored deeply in the centerpiece of this series, "This Too Shall Pass" (which also lends its name to the exhibition).

Each canvas carries a piece of a story: "Silent Battles" reflects on the quiet internal conflicts so many of us carry—those unseen, deeply felt struggles that often defy description. It is a soft acknowledgement of the weight we carry when no one else is watching.

"Tap on My Back" is a personal tribute to my friend Rubs, who offered a simple, steadying touch on my shoulder during a particularly challenging day. Sometimes, all it takes is a small gesture to anchor us—a gentle reminder that we aren't alone, that someone sees our effort, and that our persistence matters.

"Stranger" explores the heavy ache of distance and quiet disconnection. It captures that unsettling reality of feeling like a stranger to someone you once knew—only this time, carrying the weight of shared memories.

Throughout the series, water and fluid landscapes appear as recurring symbols of clarity, fate, and the continuous flow of life. Like water finding its path or trees bending with the wind, life keeps moving forward regardless of where we stand. In learning to surrender to that movement, I’ve found a profound sense of peace—trusting that everything unfolds for a reason.

My hope is that This Too Shall Pass offers you comfort and reassurance: no matter how heavy or dark the present moment may feel, it will pass—right on time, exactly as it’s meant to.
